Daniel Stonechild is the founder of FN Basketball Inc., an educator, coach, and former college athlete who played basketball at Briercrest College. With over 14 years of coaching experience, he is dedicated to providing Indigenous youth with elite basketball training while integrating cultural teachings that foster leadership, resilience, and personal growth.
Growing up in North Central Regina, Daniel saw the challenges Indigenous youth face in accessing sports and mentorship. This inspired him to create FN Basketball, a program that blends high-performance training with cultural education, including Cree language teachings, pipe ceremonies, and mentorship from Indigenous elders. His leadership has expanded FN Basketball into a mobile program that reaches both urban and reserve communities, empowering the next generation of Indigenous athletes on and off the court.
In 2025, Daniel led the launch of the FN Basketball Prep Team, creating a pathway for athletes to compete in high-level competition while gaining exposure for post-secondary opportunities. Under his leadership, the program quickly earned recognition within The Dime Sessions for its competitiveness, discipline, and team-first culture. His impact was further acknowledged through a Coach of the Year nomination.
Daniel also continues to contribute to the broader basketball community, recently taking on a role as a 16U Development Team coach with Basketball Saskatchewan, where he supports the growth of elite athletes across the province.
Through his work, Daniel remains committed to creating opportunities, building strong relationships, and guiding Indigenous youth toward success in both sport and life.
Rashawn Taniskishayinew is a coach with FN Basketball Inc. and the head coach of the U18 Gold team. As one of the original athletes in the program when FN Basketball was first developed, Rashawn has grown alongside FN, gaining experience both as a player and now as a leader within the organization.
Through his role as a coach, Rashawn is committed to mentoring younger athletes, helping them develop not only their basketball skills, but also their confidence, discipline, and sense of identity. He builds strong relationships with players and leads with authenticity, creating an environment where athletes feel supported, challenged, and motivated to grow.
In 2025, Rashawn played a key role in the launch of the FN Basketball Prep Team, helping inspire its creation through his desire to compete at a higher level and continue his development under Daniel Stonechild. That same year, he was named to The Dime Sessions All-Star Team Two, recognizing his performance and impact within a highly competitive league.
Rashawn has also committed to continuing his basketball career at Olds College, where he will compete at the collegiate level while pursuing a Business General Management diploma.
As both a coach and athlete, Rashawn represents what FN Basketball strives to build — leaders who give back, uplift others, and carry themselves with pride both on and off the court.

Known as a strong presence in the paint, Cree has built his game around physicality, toughness, and dominance in the key — and he brings that same energy into his coaching.
Cree is recognized not only for his strength as a player, but for his humour and ability to connect with athletes. His lighthearted personality helps create an environment where players feel comfortable, while still being challenged to compete, improve, and stay accountable.
Through his role with FN Basketball, Cree supports the development of young athletes by reinforcing fundamentals, encouraging confidence, and helping build a team culture rooted in effort, respect, and community.

Known as a strong and reliable presence on the court, Terreign brings consistency, discipline, and a high level of compete every time he steps on the floor. His game is built on doing the little things well, leading by example, and always putting the team first.
Terreign is a quiet leader — someone who earns respect through his work ethic, composure, and the way he carries himself. He may not be the loudest voice in the gym, but his impact is felt by teammates and coaches alike.
Beyond basketball, Terreign carries an important cultural role as a firekeeper, a responsibility that reflects his connection to tradition, respect, and ceremony. This role speaks to the kind of person he is — grounded, disciplined, and deeply connected to community — values that he brings into both his playing and coaching.
Through his role with FN Basketball, Terreign supports the development of younger athletes by reinforcing the importance of effort, accountability, and staying grounded. He takes pride in being part of a program that goes beyond basketball — one that focuses on growth, relationships, and creating opportunities for the next generation.
