Hosted by Dr.Laurel Swinden, Boost! builds on each individual students' previous musical experience. Students participate in daily classes including warmup and technique sessions, tone development, and chamber music.

Each student receives two private lessons, daily group instruction, and coaching in a small chamber ensemble. The week culminates with students performing in a final chamber music recital.

Participating in Flute Boost was an incredibly immersive experience of rigorous technical work, diverse performance opportunities and integrated musicianship. This workshop accelerated my playing by allowing me to step out of my comfort zone in more ways than one. I was able to devote all of my time to improving my musical abilities through diligent collaborative work in chamber ensembles, lessons and educational lectures spanning across each day of the workshop. Working with Flute Boosts' phenomenal clinicians and eager participants taught me so much about my role as a student musician, and I am extremely grateful for the experiences I've had in this workshop! ~Yasmen, 2024

What is a typical day at Flute Boost?
Daily activities include Group Warmups, chamber ensemble rehearsals, interactive daily flute topic classes, and individual practice time.
Students will also receive a lesson with the artist faculty and have the opportunity to work with collaborative pianist, Stephanie Mara.
