More Bushy Tail and Chatter Adventures
The Stowaways
The tent came down for the family of four.
They would need to camp no more.
The home they waited for patiently
Was available, their own to be.
The canvas wagon was now secure
And hitched to the car, fast and sure.
All passengers were bundled inside,
Certain that nothing was left behind.
On the road and unaware
Of Bushy Tail and Chatter hiding there.
Under the tarp, in a small space,
The two squirrels had found a place.
Oh my! Will they be found?
Will they miss the camping ground?
What were they thinking?
They can’t make a sound.
Did they make a mistake?
Time will tell when they arrive.
Just the thought made them shake.
Will they continue to survive?
A new place to land.
Will it be scary or grand?
Would the trees be the same?
Could they play their favorite game?
What would they eat?
Would they find their treat?
Acorns and nuts, and places for hiding,
Who would be providing?
So many questions and answers
Not yet are they seen…
Too late now to change their minds,
They’ll take whatever they find.
On the road they traveled,
But not that far.
Soon, everyone was
Out of the car.
The house has been found.
The family’s exploring new ground.
They were glad to be out
With time to play and shout!
Moving on
Other people came to see the camper.
Why all this attention?
What does it matter?
Bushy Tail nudged Chatter.
The wagon camper is getting
Hitched up to another setting.
Bushy said, “Be swift,
I’ll give you a lift.”
So quickly they climbed
Back into their space.
On the road again,
Going to find another place.
