About
We are a small, family run nursery and ecological gardening firm based in Midcoast Maine, the unceded territory of the Wabanaki Confedercy. We are brought to this work out of a deep sense of love for this little spot of Earth we live on, and a duty to do everything we can to help the more-than-human world around us. As much as we have come to love and know these plants— and the insects, birds, and other animals who love and need them too— we are acutely aware of how we have come to be here: through the grotesque history of European colonization on this land and the ensuing genocide, oppression, and disenfranchisement of the Penobscot, Abenaki, Micmac, Maliseet, and Passamaquoddy peoples. We encourage native plant people to understand the legacy of settler colonization where they live, and the ensuing history of ecosystem fragmentation and destruction of the lands that indigenous people have cared for throughout the ages.
