Discovery of the Floof Species by Professor Benjamin Amplexus PhD.
A collection of journal entries chronicling the accidental discovery of this fascinating species.SPECIES:
Floofs fall somewhere in between mammal and cephalopod. They lack a skeleton (with exception to teeth).
LIFE:
Floofs do not appear to age but they do grow in size with more affection. Growth has no upper limit but slows exponentially once reaching the size of a beach ball. The smallest recorded floof was the size of a marble.
COMPOSITION:
Floofs are composed of extra-dimensional hyper matter. This changes the way photons act when bouncing off a floof. As such, floofs will not appear on camera but their secondary effects can be seen (shadows, impacts, etc). They can be recorded if covered with some form of local material, such as opaque powder or fluid (they don’t like this).
ENEMIES:
Floofs have no natural predators. Those animals that attempt to eat them stop immediately on contact and attempt to play or cuddle with them.
EFFECTS:
Floofs have many exotic abilities (see anatomy sheet).
THEORY:
It's possible that floofs are actually avatars of an extra dimensional entity( or entities), adopting their shell in our universe to operate within it. Like finger puppets on a hand, floofs could be a single benevolent entity reaching out to make contact with the human race.
