Orders are EMAIL ONLY
Step One- Peruse the 2026 Chick and Duckling Season for breeds and pickup dates and decide on your flock
Mininum number of chicks from each order must be 2. Chicks and ducklings never go home solo as we firmly stick to the buddy system for their health and well-being.
It is totally fine to order at least two chicks (can be different breeds) from one order and at least two chicks from another order within two weeks of each other for sought after flock diversity.
Each breed listed on the chick season sheet has a link to breed information and our anecdotes.
Roosters, meat birds and goslings available by special order.
Large orders (more than 12 chicks) will get a 10% discount.
Step Two- Email flockcitypdx@gmail.com your order
Include the following info in your email:
Your first and last name in the subject line (this will be the name of your order)
Order name(s) from which you're choosing chicks
Breeds and number of each breed
Pickup date preference- Saturday or Sunday Pickups will happen at Left Field Garden Supply in SE Portland or Fang! in N Portland between 10am and 1pm (see chick schedule for pickup location).
Would you like to rent a Brooder Rental Kit? If yes, please specify for 4 or 6 weeks
Here's an example:
email subject line: Leslie Pierce
Body of email:
Order Dizzy- 1 French Blue Copper Marans, 1 Dominique
Order Ryker- 3 Green Queens
Saturday pickup for both orders
Yes to a 6 week Brooder Rental Kit!
We'll email you back with confirmation and payment information. Once payment is received, chicks are reserved.
Step Three- Prepare for the arrival of your new flock!
You'll receive a reminder email a week before the arrival of your fluffy new friends. If you need to change your pickup date from the Saturday to the Sunday or vice versa, just email back. All chicks from each order must be picked up on the designated weekend for that order. Chicks will go home in a cozy, compostable box so no need to bring one.
It's a good idea to have your brooder box set up with bedding prior to chick arrival. If you're picking up a brooder rental kit, you'll only need to have the brooder box ready. If you're buying equipment you'll also need a heat source, chick sized waterer and chick sized feeder.
Both Left Field Garden Supply and Fang! sell chick and duckling starter feed, bedding, feeders, waterers, and heat lamps (no heat plates).
