I am so excied to offer Orloffs! Back in the early 2010s I had one in my flock and she was so calm, confident and smart! I've been on a mission to find them and offer them for you all to enjoy! What makes Orloffs so great? It's not their egg laying (a mere 100 light brown or cream eggs/year), it's their unique look and personality! Orloffs are tall birds with very thick neck feathers, beards and muffs giving them a distinguished look. To top it off, they have beautiful mahogany feathers with white tips making the striking spangled feather pattern. Orloffs have a very unique strawberry comb (it's so tiny!) making them very cold hardy. The Livestock Conservancy lists Orloffs as threatened so it feels important to bring some love to this often overlooked breed.Â
