Mottled Houdan

What a cool white egg layer! Houdans have a distinctive crest, 5 toes and are known to be some of the nicest hens out there! Motled Houdans have spotted or mottled feathers with a black iridiscent base and white tips. They are known for being exceptionally calm and gentle and solid layers of medium sized white eggs (up to 200/year).  Like all crested chickens, they need plenty of rain free space to keep their crests dry and to prevent freezing in the coldest months. Don't they look like a fun bunch??
