Buckeye

Buckeyes are so cool! Not only are they the only breed of hen recognized by the American Poultry Association that was solely developed by a woman (thanks Nettie Metcalf from Ohio!) but they are also great at keeping your coop mouse free! These friendly and confident hens are great layers (up to 200 eggs/year) of large, brown eggs. Buckeyes are also known for being solid winter layers.
