Brown Leghorn

Leghorns are the business birds of the poultry world! Looking for a hen who isn’t interested in being friends but who is going to consistently lay LOTS (up to 300/year) of large to x-large white eggs? If so, the Brown Leghorn is for you! These small, active, beautiful, and flighty hens originate from the Mediterranean region and are efficient foragers. Our brown leghorn, Spunky, can rock any obstacle course (parkour for chickens?!) to get to her favorite foraging spots. While the other chickens prefer to stay in the run, Spunky has found no fence too tall or bush too dense to pass over or under. She's smart, though, and sticks to the yard, tight-rope walking the six foot fence back to the chicken run when it's time for bed.
