Black Australorp

Black Australorps are one of our very favorites! Our logo is modeled after our Black Australorp, Charcy, who was with us for 9 fantastic years. Black Australorps are a breed originating from Australia and are known for their great egg laying (up to 250 eggs/year) and gentle, curious disposition. They are large hens with beautiful black feathers with an iridescent green sheen. They are a fantastic balance of efficient egg layers and sweet companions. Another great thing about Black Australorps? They tend to be one of the best winter layers!
