Barred Rock

Barred Rocks are the zebra striped chickens everyone loves! And for good reason! Barred Rocks are easy to keep and excellent layers (up to 250 eggs/year) of large, brown eggs. They are confident hens that enjoy human interaction and a bit of adventure. The hen in the lower left picture is our Gerty, who lived to the age of 8, and was always the first to greet anyone in the backyard.
