Dorkings are a very old breed of chicken but their popularity declined after WWII. Chicken enthusiasts have been busy bringing this British breed back and for good reason. These interesting, rare, sweet and docile birds have 5 toes and lay 2 to 4 tiny cream colored eggs per week. Dorking feathers are beautiful with silver penciling around their necks and penciling in oranges and browns on the rest of their bodies. Hens are known to be friendly, making them a great choice for those who like to hang out with their flock. Since these cuties are bantams they will weigh approximately 2 lbs at maturity, half the size of their standard counterparts. Bantam Dorkings make excellent pets and are ideal for smaller coops and run spaces.
NOTE- most bantam breeds of chickens are offered straight run, or unsexed, making it a 50% hen/50% rooster ratio. Flock City bantams are sexed to 90% accuracy (90% hen/10% rooster ratio) reflecting the higher price point. These birds also come with a sex accuracy guarantee. If you suspect a cockerel, and the chick is at least 14 weeks old, you send me a picture so we can determine together. If yes to a cockerel, I send the pics to the hatchery and we both get 50% our money back.
