Have you heard the term deferred maintenance? Here's a perfect example. By the time we were ready to sell the house on Flint Hill, weather had made quite a mess of the exterior wall at the deck. These repairs were made in the cold days of December, often an hour at a time, squeezed in after work before the early darkness of nightfall.

It's funny how things remind you of other things...doing these repairs took me back to the summer of 1992. It's easy to remember the exact year because I was listening to radio news accounts of Hurricane Andrew bisecting Florida as I was doing the original framing for the deck, under beautiful cloudless sunny skies.
