Enrichment Programs for Immigrant Students
The Beyond Rising Internship program focuses on workforce development, connecting UNDOCUMENTED youth aged 16-20.
Participation in the summer internship requires a commitment of 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Interns will be assigned to various colleges, universities and organizations in the NYC area. Compensation for their contributions will be offered by the Oyate Group in the form of a $500 weekly stipend, provided through pre-paid debit cards.
Beyond Rising's summer program is set to commence on Monday July 7th and will continue until Friday August 8th. Applications will close April 7th and decisions will be sent in May.
The annual Undocupoets Fellowship grants three unrestricted $500 fellowships to poets who are currently or who were formerly undocumented in the United States.
Fellows also receive a scholarship from the Fine Arts Work Center to attend the 2025 Summer Workshop Program in Provincetown, MA. The dates of their classes run from June 15 to August 16, 2025. The scholarship covers the cost of tuition and housing for a one-week residency, as well as a $500 stipend to help cover transportation and food costs. Selected Fellows are not required to attend and this will not impact final decisions.
This program is for all students ages 13-18 who either identify as immigrants or come from an immigrant background. This program brings together immigrant high school youth so that they can learn about issues of injustice in their communities and potential solutions. Through training, community outreach, education, and workshops, youth will gain a deeper historical and political understanding of their experiences in The United States. Students will receive up to 45 volunteer hours for their participation in this program, in addition to free food, new experiences, and friends!
