The Family Learning Center is committed to creating a welcoming and functional space to be used for community-based educational activities. It is owned and managed by volunteers from the Menomonie Area community. We feature several community-based activities such as: a dedicated homeschooling group, karate, yoga and dance.

Interested in the Homeschool Group? The Menomonie Area Homeschool Group is the oldest running homeschooling group in the area. We started in the late 70's and are a community of families with diverse backgrounds and ideas that share a passion for home learning. We meet to create a dynamic and supportive learning environment for our children and families.
All are welcome, if you are willing to drive to Menomonie, you are welcome to join us! All ages are welcome! Babies through late teens and parents/siblings.
Parents, kids, or people from the community teach the classes offered, which usually change month to month. The day includes group activities (10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.), lunch (12:00-1:00 p.m.), play time, and clean up. Outside of the regular Thursday schedule, there may also be other activities throughout the year.
When: We meet every Thursday, October through May (except holidays), for cooperative classes and socializing. Late summer through September you may find us preparing for a theatrical production.

Interested in renting space? Our space is available for rent on an ongoing basis. Contact our rental liaison at flcrentals@flcmenomonie.org for rates and a copy of our renter's agreement. The building includes a large space upstairs for ongoing gatherings. It is 20'x30', with a lovely hardwood floor and small stage. During the warm months there is a window AC unit to keep the large space comfortable. A ramp leads up to the main entrance. There is also a sink, bathroom, and fountain in the upstairs space. Folding chairs are available for renters' use. The kitchen downstairs is fully stocked with cookware and eating ware and space to seat around 40 people. The tables allow for plenty of room to spread out and work on projects (ideal for craft groups). We ask that renters respect the materials and belongings of the homeschool group that uses the basement weekly. For availability, please check our Rental Calendar.
