Hello!
I'm stoked to see you all in less than two weeks! You can tell I'm excited since I rarely use the word "stoked"!!! :)
I wanted to touch base on a few items, and will be in contact the week of the race with the final details. First though, thank you all for supporting Flat Rock Trail Race, which is a benefit for the Humane Society for Greater Nashua and their building expansion plan. This expansion will help them bring more low cost services to the community, including low cost veterinary care, training, and better facilities for the pets as they wait for their fur-ever home.
Weather:
Yup, yesterday was the 12th rainy Saturday we've had a in row. THIS HAS TO STOP! I've put in an order for good weather on June 21st, and let's hope that my request goes through!
Quick Schedule Summary:
June 21st, 2025
6:30am - Parking opens
8:00am - Race start (5-mile and 6-hour)
2:00pm - 6-hour race ends
Parking:
Please use "510 High Street, Dunstable, Mass" in your GPS.
The longer story - the parking lot address is technically in Nashua, that's how close to the state line we are! But it is confusing to have a race in Dunstable with a parking address in Nashua, so please roll with it!
We will have cones out at the road marking the entrance, so it's easier to see where the lot is, and we'll have volunteers available to assist you. Some of you will be parking on the grass, so please be prepared. The parking lot is right at the start/finish.
Cups:
Please bring your own reusable cup as well as any hydration pack or belt that you'd like to use. The race is not providing cups so we can reduce our trash output.
Volunteers:
We could still use some volunteers! More information and the link to sign up are on our volunteer page. Thank you!!
Bug and Sun Spray:
I have picked up some of both, but please bring your own in case your needs differ! I also highly recommend tick spray. The stuff I got has deet and lists tick repellent, but it's New England. The ticks are out and you'll be in some woods and fields. Let's stay safe!
Course Information:
More information about the course, including a GPX file you can download, is on our Course Information page. The quick and dirty - each loop is about 5 miles and has nearly 600 feet of elevation gain. There is some great information about the history of the area on our web site too!
There will be an aid station at the start/finish with all the goodies, and an aid station at about the 3 mile mark with water, Tailwind, and ice.
Awards!
The first male, female and non-binary runners in the 5-mile race will get a special finisher award, and the top distances for male, female and non-binary in the 6-hour will get special finisher awards. All finishers will receive a memento for joining us. We may have more updates soon about awards - keep an eye on our Facebook group for updates and pictures.
The DFL or last person to finish in the 6-hour will get a special award! My rule here tho - you can't just sit around and wait to finish. You gotta be moving!
Post Race:
The Dunstable Strawberry Festival is scheduled for June 21st. I need to reach out to get more information, and will include it in the final email. However, I hope some of you will swing by after you finish and enjoy some treats!
The start/finish is only minutes off of Spit Brook Road in Nashua. You can drive right by Pressed Cafe on your way out if you need something more substantial, or a delicious smoothie, or a coffee drink. Plus there are a ton of other places nearby!
If for some reason you cannot attend the race and you can let me know, it's appreciated. The race is not sold out and there is no waitlist, but it's still good for me to know that you can't attend.
If you have additional questions that were not answered in this email or the links provided, please drop me an email at flatrocktrailrace@gmail.com.
Thanks and see you soon!
