Proceeds from the Flat Rock Trail Race will benefit the Humane Society for Greater Nashua's operating fund to help animals in our care and to provide low cost services to the community!
Date: June 13th, 2026, rain or shine!
Start & Finish Parking: 510 High Street, Dunstable, Mass
Parking Opens: 6:15 am
Races Start: 8:00 am
Distance:
Both races take place on the same 5 mile loop through the beautiful Dunstable Conservation land as well as land belonging to the Dunstable Rural Land Trust. The loop has nearly 600 feet of elevation change and some sections have plenty of good ol' New England roots and rocks.
5-Mile: Run, walk or hike one loop of the course!
6-Hour: Run, walk or hike as many loops as you like in 6 hours!
Race Ends: 2:00 pm. All participants are welcome to walk or run the trails as much as you like, but there will be no finishing times after 2pm, and we'll be packing up starting then also.
Aid Stations: There will be two aid stations, both of which will have porta potties:
The start/finish. This aid station will have plenty of goodies, water, Tailwind, ice, and other treats. We have a goal of providing food sensitive options for our runners, including gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian and vegan.
Approximately mile 3 of the course off of High Street in Dunstable, which will have water, ice and a porta potty.
Timing: Timing will be chipless and done by hand, old school style. It is the runners responsibility to tell the timing table when they are done.
Cups: Flat Rock will be a cupless race! Please bring a collapsible or similar cup for your hydration at aid stations.
Drop Bags: Drop bags are welcome by the Start/Finish area. A tarp will be put on the ground to keep any ground moisture from seeping up, but please plan to pack the bag to keep your items dry in case of bad weather.
Awards: All runners will receive a commemorative finisher award.
Fastest finish in the 5-Mile Race for male, female and non-binary will receive awards.
Longest distance covered in the 6-Hour Race for male, female and non-binary will receive awards.
The person who finishes last, getting the most time on trail for their money, will also get a special prize!
Medical: Runners are responsible for their own health, safety and well-being. Each aid station will have a basic first aid kit, but we will not have licensed and insured medical staff at the race. Local emergency responders are aware of the race and will be called for any medical issue deemed serious by the RD. Basically, we have bandaids and antiseptic that you can use, or we can call 9-1-1.
Pacers and Crew: No pacers are allowed. Parking is for runners, but friends and family that arrive with a runner are welcome. (We reserve the right to put you to work at a volunteer job! You've been warned!)
Registration: There will be NO race day registration. Registration closes June 11th at 6:00 pm. There will be no refunds or deferrals, and bibs are non-transferrable. If you register and can't attend for any reason, your entry fee will be a donation to the Humane Society for Greater Nashua. If you are unable to be at the race, runners on the waitlist would consider it kind of you to withdraw before June 11th so that they can then enter.
Parking will be tight, so if you can carpool with a friend, we ask that you do so. (Plus, all that good stuff for the planet thing!)
As you can see, the parking entrance is just north of the MA/NH state line. Parking will be in a field, so be prepared to drive on some grass. Please do NOT park on any streets unless asked to do so. Overflow parking (if needed) will be a short walk away on Crestwood Lane, Nashua. Please do not block driveways, mailboxes, fire hydrants, or really just don't break any common sense parking rule if you are asked to park on Crestwood.
No littering! The trails are beautiful and we'd like them to stay that way! Trash receptacles will be available at both aid stations.
Respect others - local residents using the trails, race participants, and everyone else that you see!
Please give all non-race participants the right of way. We want to be a good neighbor!
Be advised that many residents walk their dogs on the trails. Be aware of your surroundings and respect people and their dogs! (e.g. you should ask before petting any dogs, and please don't assume that a dog is friendly.)
Respect landowners and stay on the marked course! If you see a no trespassing sign, please avoid that property.
Do not approach houses adjacent to the parking area or anywhere on the course.
Behavior that doesn't respect the race values will NOT be tolerated, nor will any behavior that would not reflect well on the race in the Town of Dunstable.
Please be safe. Stop your participation if continuing means putting yourself or others at risk.
Baby strollers, dogs, any other pets, bikes and any other wheeled vehicle are not allowed on the course.
Please wear your bib on the FRONT of your clothing so it can be seen by race volunteers.
Ear buds and headphones are not recommended. If you choose to wear them, we suggest a very low volume or wearing only one earbud so that you can hear what is going on around you, hear other runners on the course, and be able to follow volunteer instructions.
We obviously love all pets, but please keep them safe at home and don't bring them to the race! In addition to their safety, our event insurance does not cover pet liability. Thanks for your understanding. Come by the Humane Society and visit our furry friends looking for adoption!
(Licensed service dogs are welcomed per state and federal laws and guidelines)
Overnight camping and fires of any sort are not allowed. Drop bags are welcome along the start/finish.
Flat Rock Trail Race will NOT provide cups to runners for fluids at the aid stations. Please come prepared for a cupless race.
Don't Litter! Litter includes trash, and also banana peels, orange peels, and other items that don't biodegrade. Actually, just don't drop anything and you should be good!
