During a campus emergency, Flash ALERTS will send you a message delivering critical information. Flash ALERTS are an enhancement to the several existing communications tools used by the university to reach students, faculty and staff, including the Kent State home page, alert monitor system, broadcast email alerts, broadcast voicemail messages and notifications to public media outlets.

During construction, the Klineline Pond area of the park will remain open. However, areas near the construction site, including the walking path, may be closed to the public. Access to the existing Creekside picnic shelter will remain open. Additionally, the bridge to the Klineline Pond area of the park will close for a half day during the project, to allow the contractor to move materials to the project site. The closure is expected sometime in the second week of January. The exact closure date is to be determined based on delivery of materials. The date of closure will be posted on signage at the park and on the Public Works website as soon as it is known. Visitors are reminded to be alert for construction traffic and never enter areas closed off by barricades, signs, cones, tape or other barriers.

The LED flash next to the camera lens on the back of your iPhone or iPad can blink when your device is locked and you receive a notification. This can be useful for anyone who might miss audible alerts.

I tried searching for a solution on the internet and I found a partial solution below that will display the flash message without the correct CSS styling for the 'Log In' and 'Log Out' views . The code below was added to my application.html.erb:

I found the solution to the problem I was running into for the Flash alert/notification messages not displaying with the correct styling for the 'Log In' and 'Log Out' views. The issue was resolved after I added the alert helper rb file described in the link below.

I recommend to temporarily turn off LED Flash for Alerts in Settings > Accessibility, then select Audio/Visual. Then, restart your iPhone and turn the feature back on. From there, please test and see if the LED flash is working without any issues. If needed, here's an article with the steps to access LED flash alerts: Adjust audio and visual settings on iPhone

Thank you for responding. After doing a reset and not resolving my LED issue, My Sister in law noticed her battery was was at 20% and Charged it over night. Surprisingly, the next morning she received a call and not only did her iPhone ring, but the LED light flashed. I would also like to thank you for providing the link to the Apple reference Document:Adjust and visual settings on iPhone

In fact, I have an iPhone6s and my flash has stopped working also. I do not know if the LEDflash works in conjunction with a ringtone, but my 6s WOULD be in my pocket and an incoming call audibly ring , vibrate and visually flash and incoming text Messages would alert me with a text alert tone and an LED visual flashes.

Flash Alert is a notification system used by the Bremerton School District to communicate school delays and closures to regional media. It also provides alert emails and text messages to subscribers, and "push notifications" to those with the Flash Alert app.

McMinnville Police Department uses FlashAlert to distribute information such as emergency messages, breaking news and weather related issues. Sign up using this link www.flashalert.net to receive notifications via email and/or directly to your smartphone by using the Flash Alert app.

To clarify, you want to be able to have a Rails controller respond with a turbo-stream (instead of a full-page redirect)? And in this scenario, you are getting the flash rendered within the turbo stream, and then on the next full page request. Is this correct?

With the above being the case, is there a way to build a transformation process for Phoenix such that, if you are using Bootstrap, use the first argument (an atom) of the put_flash/2 function as the CSS alert-X class to be used for displaying the flash message?

The flash provides a way to pass temporary primitive-types (String, Array, Hash) between actions. Anything you place in the flash will be exposed to the very next action and then cleared out. This is a great way of doing notices and alerts, such as a create action that sets flash[:notice] = "Post successfully created" before redirecting to a display action that can then expose the flash to its template. Actually, that exposure is automatically done.

This example places a string in the flash. And of course, you can put as many as you like at a time too. If you want to pass non-primitive types, you will have to handle that in your application. Example: To show messages with links, you will have to use sanitize helper.

UPDATE: Just to let those know who have the Minolta 4000AF, the two bottom pins on the off camera port will fire the flash. I used the connectors off an old USB header and a 3.5mm audio cable to connect it to my Cactus V2s which I put a 3.5mm port on in place of the PC socket.

I'm guessing this is safe to use with newer digital cameras? Anybody know what would not work with this flash as far as compatibility goes (I shoot a Sony a100 that uses minolta shoes). I have the adapter from Minolta to regular hot shoe. I guess I'm just wondering if it makes sense to buy a HVL-F42AM (sony's flash), a Sigma flash similar to the F42-AM, or something cheap like this

Sorry to thread steal :(

The Sony HVL-42AM will fire wirelessly you will need to set the flash on the camera turn it on .Now turn on the camera go to the camera menu find Flash settings select wireless flash the flash sets itself to wireless mode then you remove the flash from the camera . Take and flip up your camera flash now you ready to fire wireless . I have not had one misfire with mine it is a reliable system and has some limitations . I give Sony props on this reliable ( optical infared system) that they came up with .You can control HVL-42AM 's through a HVL-58AM flash off camera or Control a set of HVL-58AM's with the 58 good luck..

I've been using this flash for years and aside from the fact that it eats batteries, I love it. I'm trying to rig up an external battery because I lost the battery cover.

I found a pinout diagram for the adapter plug on another site. The 2 pins on the right are supposedly +/- 5 volts but (1) doesn't mention the current rating (2) the batteries are actually 6 volts and (3) doesn't say which is plus and which is minus. Hope this helps.

Hello All:

I made an extended battery pack (6V, 7.2Ah, Lead Acid Battery) to use with these Minolta Maxxum 4000AF flashes. I connected a Cybersync receiver to the bottom two pins to trigger the flashes, just like "blindfusion" here. The flashes work flawlessly for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the flashes go onto power saving "Auto Off" mode.

I was shooting in my company party whereby I put three of these flashes on three light stands with three Cybersync receivers. I didn't realize that the flashes go onto power saving mode after 15 minutes of non activity. So I kept on flicking the "ON/OFF"switch on the flash units to revive them for too many times. I checked the operating manual for the flash and, yes, it does say that the unit will go onto to battery power saving mode after 15 minutes of non activity.

Has anyone here experienced the same problem? If you have, what did you do to overcome it? I look forward to your suggestions. Thank you. Cole.

Still using Adobe Flash Player? You should disable it immediately, at least temporarily, as Adobe Systems has just released an emergency alert stating that a zero-day exploit exists in the wild. Adobe software developers are diligently working on a patch for the flaw as targeted attacks have been reported.

You are able to turn on a setting on your device where the LED indicator (camera's flash light) will light up when the screen has been turned off to notify you and show statuses of sound recording, unread notifications, missed calls, alarm sounds and low battery levels.
