We’re really enjoying reading about your adventure… From the back porch drinking a Glass of wine. LOL. But we miss you for sure!

I know luck has little to do with this journey. Hard work, preparation, determination and a solid support guy make the difference.
I understand the weather has been harsh in the early going.....something we can relate to!! I hope it gets better every day!!
Stay strong and stay safe!!

I’m enjoying reading about your adventures & seeing your photos. I hope you had a Happy Easter on the trail.
I’m praying for your safety, for good weather & lots of Trail Magic.
Love, Bambi

Your post on March 23 demonstrates some excellent determination and toughness. Congratulations navigating Blood Mountain in the rain. It is difficult in good weather with dry surfaces. To conquer the Georgia beast after a long day of trekking is a time to toast your courage and diligence. I know pictures can be deceiving, but it looks like you having fun. Remember No Adversity - No Adventure. Love your website. Ground Control is in control. Thanks, for allowing me to tag along. Be encouraged!

Five Pair - What a great adventure that lie ahead -for all five of you. I just wanted to share a word of encouragement as you begin this trek. Enjoy everyday and remember if there is no adversity, there is no adventure - embrace it all and lean into one another. I will be following your progress and cheering you on. We have never met but the trail unites us. I was able to manage the hike in 2014, and rejoice with the entire group as you set on this great adventure. Stay dry, travel safe, and keep laughing.

Hi Five Pair! Great to find you here, was chatting with Bucket and connected here through his PCT site and your husband's comments. How great you're leading a crew this year on the AT, safe travels. I'll follow along and try to connect when you're here in Virginia. Some friends of mine run Mountain Home in Front Royal which is a great hostel or B&B depending on your wants. After leaving the trail in Pennsylvania in 2012, I continued sectioning a couple hundred miles each year and finished atop Katahdin in 2019. Loved the journeys each year, and frequently thought of our hikes together years ago. Great to hear you're doing well and will follow along this year. Take care, Doug
