Hikers that "Five Pair" has had the pleasure of meeting before and during her journey. Brief descriptions of some and links to their journals follow:
"Acid Glasses" - Columbus, Ohio, resident who handed out pairs of unusual glasses on the AT.
"All Smiles" - male thru hiking lawyer from Kentucky. Hiking with "Gumpy", "Peeper" and "Hawk".
"Alpo" - the Prince of the AT as his trailname is followed by "formerly known as "Haus""; "Five Pair" has bumped into "Alpo" all along the AT.
"Ass Rash" - somewhat self explanatory
"Austin" - college student from Austin, Texas, and hiking partner to "Five Pair" through middle of May. Completed her thru hike on Aug XXX.
"Bad Dinner" - male hiker, the actual genesis of trail name unknown but provides different answer each time asked.
"Badger" - retired male hiker from Virginia that takes his name from his college mascot. Click here for trail journal.

"Banjo" - recent high school grad from New Jersey who started his thru hike the day before his graduation ceremony and has the distinction of being the first thru-hiker to which "Five Pair" bestowed a trail name.
"Big Foot" - Trail name genesis? He had custom shoes made… right foot is 11.5 F and the left foot is 13 EE. Click here for trail journal.
"Blue's Clues" - male hiker from Massachusetts who hiked to the summit of Katahdin with "Five Pair" on Aug 24.

"Boots" - early member of hiking family who set off after Gaitlinburg to blaze his own hike.
"Brighty" - wife half of the Myakka Mules.
"Bucket" - engineer from Cincinnati who had been planning his thru-hike for several years with his wife, Joy, serving as Ground Control and two daughters supporting his effort and member of "Five Pairs" hiking family thru Atkins, Virginia. Completed thru-hike on Sept 6. Click here for website.

"Cricket" - mother of "Alpo" formerly known as "Haus".
"Dace" - the hiker who disappears when the camera comes out. Left AT at Pawling, New York, satisfied with his journey.
"Danish" - college grad from Denmark and living in Germany and hiking in group around "Five Pair". Broke ankle 79 miles from completion with surgery to occur.
"DayPak" - started same day as "Five Pair" and working towards his third completion of the AT. Click here for trail journal.
"Diesel" - male hiker that shared a hot dog cookout with "Five Pair", "Triple T" and "DayPak". Completed thru-hike on Sept 6 with Bucket and Dirty Girl.

"Duke's Keeper" or "Keeper" - Hiker from Virginia who owns "Duke" one of the dogs on the AT with their owner and consistently hiking the pace of "Five Pair". Reached the summit of Katahdin with "Five Pair" and "Blue's Clues" on August 24.

"Galileo" - female thru-hiker inspired by the life of the Galileo Galilei, 17th century Italian physicist, mathematician, astronomer and philosopher.
"GramCracker" - Central Florida grandmother who completed her AT journey in 2010. Hiked the first 110 miles with Five Pair and provided her invaluable advice before and during their time together on the AT.

"Kindle Ninja" - member of "Five Pair's" hiking family thru Atkins, Virginia, and reunion briefly at Bear's Den Hostel.
"Knief" - 24 year old Dutchman from Lucerne, Switzerland, who's trailname comes from a spelling error of 'knife'. Completed hike on Aug 23 and caught ride to Boston via Five Pair and family.
"KrispyKritter" - two time AT thru-hiker who works at Travel Country and provider of invaluable gear assistance.
"Lady Forward" - a female hiker from Wisconsin that summitted on August 23.
"Late for Dinner" - male hiker
"LeeBob" - 52 year old engineer began thru-hike on March 3 but left trail early July. Click here for trail journal.
"Lone Star" - male hiker from Texas whose father passed away recently and taking some time off by biking from Texas to Georgia, hiking the AT and planning on biking home to Texas after completing the AT
"Lorax" - young man hiker who went off AT for 5 weeks due to shin splints.

"Spider" - young man hiker who earned his trail name when he had to leave the trail for reasons related to a bite by a black widow spider.
"Spiderman" - 42 year old social worker from Arlington, Virginia, with "Mom" serving as Ground Control and member of "Five Pairs" hiking family thru Damascus.

"Sunshine" - college student who, with his girlfriend and sister, met "Five Pair" and "Triple T".
