Fitsum Deriba is a PhD candidate at the University of Eastern Finland, where he is pursuing research in Artificial intelligence, focusing on enhancing Accessibility with future technology with Artificial intelligence. As a doctoral researcher at the School of Computing, he focuses on making educational technologies accessible, inclusive and user-center designed in learning analytics.
With over eight years of experience in teaching, research, and administrative roles, Fitsum has held several academic role and positions, including head of computer science, Department Research Coordinator, Undergraduate Project Coordinator and worked as a lecturer at Wachemo University, Ethiopia and teaching assistant at University of Eastern finland, Finland.
Fitsum has published over twenty research papers in reputable journals and conferences. He has reviewed over 50 conference papers, 70 conference papers. Even though he is early stage-stage researcher, his work has been cited over three hundred times in google scholar. His work has received attention in various domains, including Human centered AI design, accessibility and inclusivity, AI in education, Computing education, and AI in health care. He has also been invited to review for multiple academic journals in Elseiver, Springer, IEEE, and other; and conferences, showcasing his expertise in these fields.
