FitLog respects your privacy and is designed to keep most of your fitness information on your device.

This Privacy Policy explains what information FitLog handles, where that information is stored, when information may be sent to third-party services, and the choices available to you.

By using FitLog, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.


1. Information You Enter Into FitLog

Depending on the features you use, FitLog may allow you to enter or create information such as:

FitLog does not currently require you to create a FitLog account to use these features.


2. Local Storage

Most information you enter into FitLog is stored locally on your device.

This includes your regular meal logs, weight entries, workout information, app settings, and locally stored meal photos.

FitLog does not provide account-based cloud synchronization in the current version. Information stored on one device does not automatically appear on another device.

Some features described below, including AI Meal Scan and advertising, involve limited off-device processing.


3. Meal Photos

Regular Meal Logging

When you add a photo to a meal without using AI Meal Scan, the photo is stored as part of your local FitLog data on your device.

FitLog does not automatically upload your regular meal-photo library to a FitLog cloud account.

AI Meal Scan

AI Meal Scan is an optional feature.

If you choose AI Meal Scan, the selected meal image must be transmitted off your device so that it can be analyzed.

Before the image is sent, FitLog presents a disclosure and asks you to choose whether to continue with AI processing.

The selected image is sent through FitLog's backend service and provided to FitLog's third-party AI service provider, OpenAI, for the purpose of generating meal-balance suggestions.

AI Meal Scan may generate suggestions related to visible meal components such as:

AI-generated suggestions may be incomplete or inaccurate. You are able to review and edit suggestions before applying them to your meal.

FitLog does not use AI Meal Scan as a medical diagnosis service or as a substitute for professional medical or nutritional advice.


4. AI Service Provider

FitLog currently uses OpenAI's API as a service provider for AI Meal Scan.

Information submitted for an AI Scan may include:

FitLog does not submit your entire FitLog history to OpenAI when you perform an AI Meal Scan.

OpenAI states that data submitted through its API is not used to train its models by default.

OpenAI may retain API request information for security and abuse-monitoring purposes in accordance with its API data-retention policies. Under OpenAI's default API controls, abuse-monitoring logs may be retained for up to 30 days, unless a longer period is required by law or is reasonably necessary for safety or security purposes.

OpenAI's data practices and retention controls may change independently of FitLog.


5. FitLog AI Backend and Technical Records

FitLog uses backend infrastructure to operate AI Meal Scan and related usage controls.

The backend may process limited technical information necessary to:

This technical information may include timestamps, request identifiers, install- or device-scoped identifiers, request status, usage counters, and technical logs.

FitLog does not use this backend to create a cloud copy of your complete meal, weight, or workout history.


6. AI Scan Credits

FitLog may provide complimentary AI Scan credits.

FitLog may also allow users to earn additional AI Scan credits by completing a rewarded advertisement.

Information necessary to maintain credit integrity, prevent duplicate rewards, or prevent abuse may be processed locally and/or by FitLog's backend.

Completing a rewarded advertisement does not give the advertiser access to your FitLog meal logs, weight history, or workout history through FitLog.


7. Advertising

FitLog may use Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads SDK to provide banner advertisements and rewarded advertisements.

Google states that the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect or process information such as:

The exact information used can depend on device settings, advertising configuration, user consent, region, and Google services.

FitLog does not intentionally provide the contents of your meal logs, meal photos, weight entries, or workout logs to Google AdMob for the purpose of choosing advertisements.

Google requires publishers using its advertising services to disclose data collection and use resulting from Google advertising products.


8. App Tracking Transparency

Depending on FitLog's advertising configuration, FitLog may request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) system.

If the permission request is presented, you can choose whether to allow tracking.

If you decline Apple's tracking permission, FitLog can continue to function, although advertising may operate differently.

Google states that when ATT permission is denied, its Mobile Ads SDK can still request ads but will not include the iOS advertising identifier, or IDFA, in that ad request.

You can review or change tracking permissions in your iPhone's privacy settings, subject to Apple's available controls.


9. Advertising Privacy and Consent

Advertising privacy requirements vary by location.

Where required, FitLog or Google's consent tools may present privacy choices relating to advertising, personalization, identifiers, or related processing.

Google provides consent and privacy controls through its User Messaging Platform for applicable regions and privacy laws.

Your available advertising choices may depend on your country or state.


10. Photos and Camera Permissions

FitLog may request access to your photo library or camera when you choose functionality that requires a meal image.

FitLog uses this access to allow you to select or capture the image you requested.

You can manage photo and camera permissions through your device's system settings.

Declining photo access does not prevent you from using FitLog features that do not require a photo.


11. Notifications and Reminders

FitLog may request notification permission so that it can provide features such as:

You can disable notifications through FitLog's available settings or through your device's notification settings.


12. Sharing

FitLog may allow you to create or share information such as progress summaries or meal information.

Sharing is initiated by you.

When you use your device's sharing features, information may be sent to another application, person, or service that you select.

After information is shared outside FitLog, the recipient or third-party service may process that information according to its own privacy practices.

Review any information you are about to share before sending it.


13. Data We Do Not Require

FitLog currently does not require a FitLog account for its core local tracking functionality.

FitLog does not require you to provide your:

If you voluntarily contact FitLog Support, information you provide in your support request may be used to respond to and troubleshoot your request.


14. Data Retention

Local FitLog Data

Local FitLog information remains on your device until you:

Deleting FitLog may also delete locally stored FitLog information and photos.

AI and Backend Data

FitLog retains only the backend information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, monitor, and protect its online features according to the applicable technical configuration.

Third-party providers may maintain their own retention periods.

For example, OpenAI's default API abuse-monitoring retention may be up to 30 days as described above.

Advertising Data

Data processed by Google through Google Mobile Ads is subject to Google's own retention practices and privacy policies.


15. How to Delete Your FitLog Data

You can remove locally stored FitLog data using the controls available in the app.

Open:

Settings → Storage & Privacy

and use the available options to remove stored photos or app data.

Please review confirmation messages carefully. Deleted local information may not be recoverable.

You can also delete the FitLog app from your device. Depending on iOS storage behavior, deleting the app may remove locally stored FitLog information associated with the app.

Information previously processed by a third-party provider is subject to that provider's retention and deletion policies.


16. Security

FitLog is designed to minimize unnecessary collection of personal information and to keep core tracking data on-device where practical.

However, no device, application, network transmission, or online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You should protect access to your device and use appropriate device security features.


17. Third-Party Services

FitLog may rely on third-party services to provide specific functionality.

Current services may include:

Used to process meal images when you voluntarily use AI Meal Scan.

Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads

Used to provide banner and rewarded advertisements.

Apple / iOS Services

Used for operating-system functionality such as permissions, notifications, photo selection, device sharing, and App Tracking Transparency.

These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.


18. International Processing

Third-party service providers may process information on systems located outside your state, province, or country.

Privacy protections and legal requirements can differ between jurisdictions.

When FitLog uses third-party providers, their processing is also governed by their applicable agreements, privacy policies, and legal obligations.


19. Your Privacy Choices

Depending on the feature and your location, your choices may include:

Because most core FitLog information is stored locally without an account, FitLog may not possess a server-side copy of information that exists only on your device.


20. Children's Privacy

FitLog is a general wellness and fitness-tracking application and is not designed specifically for children.

FitLog does not knowingly seek to collect children's personal information through an account-registration system because FitLog does not currently require a FitLog account for its core functionality.

Parents or guardians who believe that information relating to a child has been transmitted to FitLog through an online feature may contact FitLog using the information below.


21. Health and Wellness Information

Information such as weight, meals, exercise activity, and related tracking data can be sensitive.

FitLog is intended as a personal wellness and tracking tool.

FitLog does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or professional medical advice.

AI Meal Scan results and other information displayed by FitLog should not be relied on as a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare or nutrition professional.


22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

FitLog may update this Privacy Policy when:

Material changes may also be communicated through the app or another appropriate method when required.
