When I had my son Theo, I realised how unprepared I actually felt — even as a personal trainer.
I thought I’d feel strong, capable, in control… but everything changed. My core felt like jelly. My energy disappeared. My identity felt blurry. And worst of all — I didn’t know where to turn for safe, real support.
I started talking to other mums — in mum & baby classes, gyms, DMs… and I kept hearing the same story:
“No one asked about my birth.”
“They gave me crunches, burpees and jumping jacks at 6 weeks postpartum.”
“I didn’t even know what diastasis recti was until I Googled it.”
These women were being dismissed. Rushed. Given a “get your body back” plan, but no actual care. No pelvic floor checks. No emotional support. No space to process what just happened to them — physically, mentally, or emotionally.
And what broke my heart?
So many of them felt invisible. Like no one saw them — just the baby.
