Frequently Asked Questions
1. What does Fit Running do?
Fit Running helps you track your steps, view daily/weekly/monthly/yearly progress, follow walking and running plans, use step widgets, and optionally use Steps Lock to hold selected apps until your step goal is complete.
2. Does Fit Running collect my data?
No. Fit Running does not collect, sell, or share your personal data. Health and step data are used on your device to power the app experience.
3. Why does Fit Running ask for Apple Health access?
Fit Running needs Apple Health access to read your steps and activity data. This allows the app to show accurate step progress, update widgets, and power Steps Lock.
4. How do I connect Apple Health?
Open Fit Running and tap the Health connection button when shown. iOS will ask you to allow Health permissions.
You can also manage access in:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Fit Running
5. Why are my steps not showing?
Please check:
Apple Health permission is enabled
Fitness Tracking is enabled on your iPhone
You have walked with your iPhone or Apple Watch
The app has been reopened after granting permission
Some Apple Health data may take a moment to sync.
6. What is Steps Lock?
Steps Lock lets you choose apps or categories that stay blocked until you complete your selected step goal for the day.
For example, you can set a goal like 500, 1,000, or custom steps before opening selected social apps.
7. Does Fit Running see all my apps?
No. App selection is handled through Apple Screen Time APIs. Apple lets you privately choose apps or categories. Fit Running only uses that permission to apply the block/unblock feature.
8. How do I turn off Steps Lock?
Open Fit Running, go to Steps Lock, and turn it off. You can also change Screen Time permissions in iOS Settings.
9. Can I change my step goal?
Yes. You can edit your goal inside the app. Your steps page and Steps Lock goal are connected so your walking target stays consistent.
10. Why do widgets show different data sometimes?
Widgets update on iOS’s schedule, so they may not refresh instantly every second. Open the app to force the latest Health data to sync, then widgets will update when iOS allows.
11. Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. Fit Running can use step data from your iPhone. If you use an Apple Watch, Apple Health may combine data from both devices.
12. How do subscriptions work?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. You can manage or cancel subscriptions anytime in:
Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
13. How do I restore purchases?
Open the paywall or subscription screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple ID used for purchase.
14. How do I restart onboarding?
Open Profile and tap Restart Onboarding.
