System Administration and Maintenance (Beginner)

Introduction

In this course, student will acquire fundamental knowledge and skills about servers. Student will be exposed to server setup, deployment, management and maintenance. The knowledge area consists of skills and concepts that are essential to the administration of operating systems, networks, software, file systems, file servers, web systems and database systems.

  • Install, setup and configure Linux server based on their hardware and software requirements
  • Perform fundamental server administration and management techniques, which include user and group management, backup management, security management, disaster recovery, resource management, and automation management (automatic job scheduling)

  • Setup and configure essential free and opensource web systems, such as content management system, wiki and e-commerce system
