Fishing Forecast (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Fishing Forecast handles information when you use the app.

Location Data
If you allow location access, the app uses your device location to center the map and load nearby fishing forecasts, tide conditions, marine weather, and fishing spots. You can use the app without granting location permission by searching for a place manually.
Search and Map Activity
When you search for lakes, piers, beaches, marinas, boat ramps, or fishing spots, the app may process your search query to show relevant map results and forecast information.
Saved Fishing Spots
If you save fishing spots, those saved places are stored on your device so you can revisit them later. The app does not require an account to use saved spots.
Purchase and Subscription Information
Fishing Forecast offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We may receive subscription status information, product identifiers, entitlement status, and related purchase information through Apple StoreKit and our subscription provider in order to unlock Pro features and restore purchases.
Usage and Diagnostic Information
We may process limited technical and usage information, such as app interactions, subscription/paywall events, device or app identifiers, and diagnostic information, to operate the app, manage subscriptions, improve functionality, and troubleshoot issues.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide fishing forecasts, tide windows, marine weather, and map-based features
- Center the map and show nearby fishing conditions
- Search and display fishing-related places
- Save and manage your favorite fishing spots
- Unlock and manage Pro subscription features
- Restore purchases
- Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience
- Provide support and respond to user requests
3. Third-Party Services
Fishing Forecast may use the following services to provide core functionality:
Apple MapKit
Used to display maps, map search results, and location-based map features.
Apple CoreLocation
Used only if you grant location permission, to center the map and load nearby conditions.
Apple StoreKit
Used to process in-app purchases and auto-renewable subscriptions.
AppActor
Used for subscription, paywall, entitlement, and purchase status integration.
AppMerge Backend
Used to securely provide forecast data to the app.
Open-Meteo
Used for marine weather and weather forecast data.
WorldTides
Used for tide data where available.
These services may process information according to their own privacy practices.
4. Location Data
Location access is optional. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
Fishing Forecast uses location to provide app functionality, including:
- Showing nearby fishing conditions
- Loading local tide and marine weather information
- Centering the map around your area
The app is not intended for emergency, navigation, or safety-critical use.
5. Payments
All payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share limited information with service providers only as needed to operate the app, manage subscriptions, provide forecasts, process map/location features, improve reliability, or comply with legal obligations.
7. Tracking and Advertising
Fishing Forecast does not use third-party advertising tracking. We do not sell your data to advertisers.
8. Data Retention
Saved fishing spots are stored on your device until you delete them or remove the app.
Subscription-related information may be retained as needed to manage purchases, restore access, provide support, comply with legal obligations, and maintain business records.
Technical logs may be retained for a limited period for security, debugging, and service reliability.
9. Children’s Privacy
Fishing Forecast is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Your Choices
You can:
- Disable location access in iOS Settings
- Delete saved fishing spots in the app
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings
- Contact us for privacy questions or support
11. International Use
The app may be used in different regions. Data may be processed in countries other than your own, depending on the services used to provide app functionality.
