Current research focuses

I am particularly interested in the systematics, species diversity, and evolution of deep reef fishes, especially those in the family Anthiadidae and the subfamily Liopropomatinae (Epinephelidae). Before starting my PhD, I described several new species from Taiwan and revised the polyphyletic anthiadid genus Plectranthias using an integrative taxonomic approach.

For my PhD, although my proposal is still in preparation, my research will continue to build on this foundation. I aim to expand beyond traditional systematics to explore the biogeography, functional morphology, and evolutionary patterns of deep reef fishes.
