The city of Genk is located in the heart of Limburg, the beautiful green province on the eastern side of Flanders.
Genk is a young city that cleverly developed on the foundations of its rich mining past: an agricultural village that grew into a true city due to its dynamics and versatility. A city that also presents itself on Flanders’ economic map. It is a city full of interesting contrasts.
FISEC (Fédération Internationale Sportive de l'Enseignement Catholique) is the International Sports Federation of Catholic Education. Every year, since 1947, the FISEC games are organized in a European country. This is a 6-day meeting between 15 to 17 year old youngsters from around the world. Since 2014 there is a cooperation with FICEP, the "Fédération Internationale Catholique d'Education Physique et Sportive". This interaction has helped to increase the international character of the games.
SVS, the Flemish School Sport Foundation, is delighted to organise, for the first time in 30 years, the games in Flanders.
Atlas College in Genk will be the beating heart of this event. Here we will build the youth village, a spacious meeting place where participants will live daily. SportinGenk Park and all the sports facilities are within walking distance.

"Sport connects cultures: one team, one spirit"
The FISEC-FICEP games provide enormous opportunities for young people around the world to meet. This year, the multicultural context of Genk is the perfect backdrop for achieving these goals. We do not just want to focus on sports performance, but above all highlight the social and cultural dimensions.
Discovering the history of Genk and making contact with the local people give a special asset to the games of 2018. They are the starting point for the many activities that will be organized in the youth village and in the center of Genk.
The symbols on the poster and the slogan of the games reflect the social, cultural and sportive dimensions of FICEP-FICEP 2018.
