On Thursday, December 18th at 3:00 pm, we held a special Blue Christmas service. There are many who experience a sense of loss during the holiday season, or perhaps just being overwhelmed by it. This service invites a moment of quiet contemplation in prayer, scripture and song to pause from the holiday hustle. All were invited to attend.

On Sunday, Nov 2, 2025, during our worship service we gave honor and remembrance to our loved ones who died before us. It was a beautiful worship service that everyone could participate in.

Celebration of Life Pastor Gene Krueger
Celebration of Life Pastor Gene Krueger
A funeral service was held at First Congregational UCC on Friday, October 10th, 2025. Gene Ellis Krueger was born on December 21, 1931, to Herman and Helen Krueger. He grew up in the town of Pine River near Merrill, Wisconsin. He went on to Mission House and Seminary in Sheboygan (now Lakeland University), and was ordained in 1956. Gene married the love of his life, Gwen Ruben, in 1966. They had two daughters Sarah and Leah. Gene served several UCC congregations in Alma, Cochrane, Sheboygan and Antigo.

On Sunday, August 24th an outdoor worship service and church picnic was enjoyed by both First Congregational UCC and Zion UCC at the Redgranite site. It was nice to have members from both churches together for the event. Even though it was a bit breezy and chilly, there was nice sunshine, and everyone looked cozy under their blankets during worship. The potluck was excellent, with lots of tasty food choices enjoyed by attendees. Thank you to all who helped with the planning, set up, food and clean up.

On November 12, 2023 we were excited to revive our tradition of hosting the Gymanfa Ganu Welsh Christmas Hymn Sing. Everyone had a great time singing the Christmas classics, in addition to the Welsh favorites.
