When/Where do we gather?
We gather each Sunday @ 10:15 am in person to have Coffee & Fellowship followed by @ 10:45 am Worship Service at 3500 LA-28, Pineville, LA 71360 (across the street from Jim Deggy's)

What should I wear?
Whatever attire you choose is fine. Some people dress casually in jeans and tee-shirt. Others put on their Sunday best. All are made to feel comfortable at our church.
Will I be singled out as a visitor?
We are a small and friendly congregation. You'll be warmly greeted by various members before and after Worship. There is no special time during the service when visitors singled out to be welcomed.
What is worship like?
Our pastor usually begins by asking for joys and concerns to keep in mind during prayer times. Music is selected from the denomination's Chalice Hymnal and includes traditional and contemporary songs. Scripture passages are read aloud by individuals and responsively by the congregation. The pastor takes one of the lectionary texts as the basis of his sermon. The Lord's Supper (Communion) is offered every Sunday to all who wish to receive it. If you prefer not to partake, simply pass the plates along. No one will judge you. Here is a sample bulletin to give you a better idea of the order of our worship.
Am I expected to put money in the offering plate?
Nope, not at all. In fact, we don't pass an offering plate. If you wish to contribute to First Christian or any of the Disciples of Christ's ministry projects there is a collection box on the table in the foyer. Once a month, an offering plate is placed on the table in the foyer to receive benevolence offerings to help those in our community who may need a helping hand.
Will I be pressured to become a member?
No, "membership" is rather informal with us. We welcome all people to participate fully in the life of the church whether they are "members" or not. If there comes a time you wish to formally affiliate yourself with First Christian, just ask the pastor to give you a membership form and he will announce your membership the next Sunday.
What if I'm not a Christian?
That's ok. We welcome anyone who is seeking God to worship with us. All our journeys are different. We strive to help each other along no matter if you are just starting or whether you are a seasoned veteran. If you'd like to know how to become a Christian, our pastor can certainly help you.
