People at First Christian Church in Pineville grow together spiritually,

urging each other on to closer relationships with God, humankind, and creation.

We do this in a variety of ways.

Coffee & Bible Discussion

Each Sunday before Worship at 9:45 am we meet to discuss scripture over coffee. Each discussion places the scripture passage in context with the rest of God's word, with history, and with the culture of the time. From this we find meaning and application for our own lives today.

Teaching Children

We offer a Montessori-style curriculum for children during Bible Discussion and Worship, though children are welcome to remain with their parents during these times. We seek to involve children in Worship as well.

Workshops, Projects and Lectures

We offer opportunities outside our regular Sunday schedule for additional spiritual development. We often partner with like-minded groups to reach out to even more people. First Christian has in the past invited friends and neighbors to join us for:

  • Dr. Diana Butler Bass lecturing on her book "Grounded: Finding God in the World - A Spiritual Revolution."
  • A weekend retreat called "Gifts of the Enneagram - A Retreat Led by Brad Pickel.
  • Team work on the "October EcoChallenge" to connect Disciples of Christ, family, and friends to build community and take care of the environment.
