Lyndon Marcotte has pastored First Christian Church since June 2021.
He graduated from Louisiana College in 1999 and has been a pastor of several churches in Grant and Rapides Parishes for nearly 30 years. He is a bi-vocational pastor employed full-time as a Chaplain with a local hospice. Lyndon is also a Registered Yoga Teacher and the Director of the Cenla Meditation Group. Lyndon has two sons, and he and his wife Sarah live in Pineville with their daughter. They enjoy gardening, hiking, and spending time together.
Tanya Vidrine, Karen Simmons, Sandy Williams, and DC Sills are talented musicians who lead First Christian Church in musical worship each Sunday and who plan special services like Fifth Sunday Singings throughout the year and Maundy Thursday each Easter season.
At First Christian, Deacons help things run smoothly on Sunday mornings, at other church gatherings, and with community ministries. For example, we help make people feel welcome and comfortable in Morning Worship, assist in preparing and serving the Lord's Supper, help people stay connected in times of sickness or grief, give practical advice and guidance with our church facility and with ministry projects, and to make sure no one in need is overlooked.
We are fortunate to have a great group of Deacons this year! They are Jo Ann Mozisek, Michael Duck, Janice Williams, Karen Riley Simmons, and Erin Teutsch.
In our church, Elders give spiritual guidance when they can and to give thoughtful consideration to policies of the church that will enable it to minister to everyone. For example, we help the pastor in conducting Morning Worship by assisting in preparing and serving the Lord's Supper. We help lead by example in ministry projects and suggest new ways to reach people with the good news of the gospel. We assist our pastor in caring for members of the congregation and making sure no one is forgotten. And when at all possible, we provide supportive counsel for our pastor regarding the spiritual life and development of the congregation.
We are blessed with many years of experience in our Elders this year! They are Bill Whatley, Sandy Williams, DC Sills, and Tanya Vidrine.
