Medieval Fair of Norman
1-3 April, 2022
Join us for our exciting presence at this year's Medieval Fair! We plan to offer some new displays and interactive demos! But we need volunteers to help run our booth in order to keep these going, because we need at least two people in the booth at all times to handle hot beeswax, and many hands make light work. Please contact us today if you are interested in volunteering in our booth!
History of beekeeping tour at Scissortail Park apiary
We have been supporting the Parks Department's apiary, located at the south end of Scissortail Park in downtown Oklahoma City, in their history of beekeeping tours at the apiary at 11:00 on Saturday mornings this spring. It's been a great opportunity for public outreach and public education about bees!
Note: This Saturday, May 29, 2021, from 11:00-11:45, will be the last of these history of beekeeping tours this spring. Come join us!
Scissortail Park apiary is located at the south end of Scissortail Park, just east of the Union Station building, and just north of the north end of the Skydance Bridge. Look for a low lying area with a circular pavilion next to a circular rock garden. In the event of rain, we may retreat to the nearby skating rink, marked 7 on the map above.
Medieval Fair of Norman Oklahoma
The 2020 and 2021 Medieval Fairs were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We will update about the 2022 fair as information becomes available.
Look for our green and white tent in the SCA area, traditionally located at the far north end of Reeves Park, at the upcoming Medieval Fair.
Medieval Fair, Norman OK, April 5 - 7, 2019
We had a booth again this year in the SCA area of Reeves Park. We got to visit with lots of people about both medieval and modern beekeeping. We would love to hear back from anyone who came to our tent and would like to learn more about beekeeping.
Medieval Fair, Norman OK, April 6 - 8, 2018
We had a great time talking to and sharing information with visitors to our booth at Medieval Fair in Norman Oklahoma recently. We were happy to see so many who are interested in keeping bees or helping to save the bees. We hope to reconnect with many and welcome any who are interested to our group.
Thank you to all who donated to our fundraiser. We were grateful to be able to use the beautiful tent pavilion seen below, but it isn't ours. The fundraiser will help us purchase a tent of our own, so we can continue participating in events to share information with others about beekeeping.
