National University Manila, commonly known as NU, is one of the oldest private non-sectarian universities in the Philippines. Established on August 1, 1900, by Mariano F. Jhocson Sr., it is recognized as the first private coeducational institution in the country and the first university to use English as its primary medium of instruction.
