During 2023, a big scale outbreak of Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), happened in the island of Cyprus with devastating consequences for cats. Both indoor and outdoor cats were affected during this outbreak. Based on estimations of the Pancyprian Veterinary Association, about 10000 cats visited the veterinary practices in the controled area of the Cyprus republic the first six months of 2023. A scientific task force was formed to study this outbreak and due time this team got bigger.
