Introduction FinTrack exists to help you manage expenses and track spending. Your privacy matters, and we have designed our system to prioritize local storage and data security.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information: We collect your name and email address for account creation. If you use Google Sign-In, we may access your profile photo. Passwords are encrypted using Firebase; we never see plain text passwords.
1.2 Your Receipt Data:
Receipt Images: These are processed locally on your device to extract information. Original images are stored on your device only and are not uploaded to our permanent servers.
Receipt Details: Information such as business names, amounts, and dates are synced to secure cloud storage (Firebase). This allows you to access your financial history across devices and ensures your data is backed up.
1.3 Analytics & Performance: To improve our AI and app stability, we collect anonymous aggregated statistics (e.g., "50,000 total receipts scanned," or "Crash rate on Android 14"). This data cannot be linked to you personally.
2. How We Use Your Information
To Serve You: We use your data to scan receipts, generate expense reports, and organize your spending.
To Improve AI: We use anonymous, aggregated data to train our machine learning models to be more accurate.
Business Intelligence: We may use completely anonymized, aggregated trends (e.g., "Average coffee price in Manila") for business insights. Your individual receipts and identity are never included in these datasets.
3. Data Storage and Retention
Local First: Receipt images remain on your device.
Cloud Processing: Authenticated user data is handled via Firebase (Google Cloud) with bank-level encryption.
Retention: We retain account data only as long as you use the app. You can delete your account at any time, which permanently wipes your data from our systems.
Note regarding Firebase: We practice data minimization. Any temporary data processed for syncing is handled securely, and we strictly adhere to deletion requests.
4. Data Sharing
No Selling: We NEVER sell your personal data (name, email, or individual receipts) to third parties.
Aggregated Insights: We may share or sell anonymous market insights (e.g., "Retail spending trends") that contain no personal information.
5. Your Rights
Access & Export: You can export your data (CSV/PDF) at any time via the dashboard.
Deletion: You can request full account deletion via the app settings.
