Student Support

Workshop participants are invited to join the Young Scholar Initiative of the Institute for New Economic Thinking, a community made up of thousands of students, young professionals, and researchers from across the globe pursuing new and critical ways of thinking about the economy.

INET YSI is organized around the Young Scholar Directory, an online portal.

Applications for travel support will be administered through the Young Scholar Directory. A number of travel stipends will be available to students, post-docs, and early-career professionals that submit a workshop abstract. Priority will be given to regional travel, although a small number of intercontinental travel stipends will be supported.

Applications for travel support will be reviewed by the INET YSI working groups involved in this workshop:

• Complexity Economics
• Urban and Regional Economics
• East Asia

INET YSI Management will determine travel stipend amount depending on schedule and circumstance. Moreover, INET YSI will cover accommodation in shared hotel rooms from January 22nd to 24th to all selected participants who are not based in Tokyo.
