Duwende are known for being mischievous but can also be helpful to humans if treated with respect
Duwende may become hostile if mistreated
Duwende may get angry if a trespasser destroys or damages their mound or the duwende itself
To show respect to duwende, you can say "Tabi tabi po" in Tagalog
If a duwende is angry with someone, they may cause pain or swelling in any part of the person's body, or an illness that cannot be cured by modern medicine
An albularyo or herbal doctor may be called to help cure the victim
