To provide you with file management, cleaning, and optimization features, File Clean Manager requires specific device permissions. We explicitly declare that all file scanning, management, and cleaning processes occur strictly locally on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or store your personal files or metadata on any remote servers.
Below is a detailed explanation of the permissions our App requests, the triggering points, and why they are necessary:
Storage Access (Android 10 and below)
android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Triggered when you tap to view file directories or specific file types. This allows the App to read files on your device's external storage to display them to you.
android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Triggered when you navigate into file directories. This allows the App to modify or delete junk files on your external storage upon your command.
All Files Access (Android 11 and above)
android.permission.MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Triggered when you tap to view or manage file directories. Due to Android's Scoped Storage rules, this core permission is strictly required for the App to function as a comprehensive file manager and cleaner, allowing it to read, write, and manage files across the device's shared storage.
Notification Access
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Triggered on the splash screen during your first launch (for Android 13 and above). This allows us to send you essential alerts (e.g., when a cleaning task is completed). We do not request this on the main screen to avoid interrupting your experience.
App Usage and Management
android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS: Triggered when you choose to scan and clear app cache files (for Android 6 and above). This allows the App to read app behavior information strictly to identify which apps are generating unnecessary cache.
android.permission.GET_PACKAGE_SIZE: Required automatically (Android 6 and below) to calculate and display the storage size consumed by installed apps.
android.permission.CLEAR_APP_CACHE: Required automatically (Android 6 and below) to allow the App to clear cache files generated by other applications.
android.permission.REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES: Required automatically to allow you to uninstall other applications directly through our App's app management feature.
While your core files remain locally on your device, we integrate certain third-party software development kits (SDKs) to provide advertising, analytics, and app stability. These third parties may collect device identifiers (such as Advertising IDs), IP addresses, and non-personal usage data.

Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain European jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children. GDPR (European Economic Area & UK): Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your personal data, and the right to restrict or object to processing. You may withdraw your consent for personalized ads at any time via your device settings.
CCPA/CPRA (California, USA): Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt-out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (e.g., targeted advertising).
VCDPA (Virginia, USA): Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), residents can request access, correction, deletion, and opt-out of targeted advertising.
LGPD (Brazil): Under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), Brazilian users have rights to confirmation of existence of processing, access, correction, anonymization, and deletion of data.
