This Privacy Policy describes how Calerious - Calories Counter AI ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of the Calerious - Calories Counter AI mobile application (the "Service"). Your privacy is critically important to us, and we are committed to protecting it.
Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our Service to you.
A. Information You Provide Directly to Us:
Images: We collect the photos of food that you capture within or upload to the Application. This is the primary data required for the Service to function.
Saved Food Entries and Custom Meals: When you log meals (manually or via scan) or create custom "My Meal" entries, this information is stored locally on your device to provide features like your food history, reports, and quick adding. This data is not uploaded to our servers.
B. Information Collected Automatically:
Usage and Device Information: We may collect basic, anonymized information about your device, such as device type, operating system, and crash logs.
Installed Applications: To ensure app functionality, stability, and compatibility, our app collects and uploads a list of the applications installed on your device. This is required for core app features and analytics, as described in our in-app disclosure.
The Service provides general nutritional and fitness information for educational purposes only. It is not intended to provide medical advice or to replace consultation with a qualified healthcare professional. The information generated by our AI is an estimate and is not guaranteed to be accurate.
Always seek the advice of your physician or another qualified health provider before starting any nutrition or exercise program. Do not disregard professional medical advice because of information you have seen in this Application.
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
To Provide and Maintain our Service: To process the images you provide and return an AI-generated nutritional analysis; to store your food log locally on your device for history and reporting features.
To Improve and Optimize our Service: To understand how users interact with our app and to diagnose technical problems.
To Ensure App Functionality and Stability: We use automatically collected data, including the list of your installed applications, to diagnose technical problems, ensure compatibility with your device, and enable core app features.
To Comply with Legal Obligations: To enforce our terms and policies.
We do not sell your personal information. We share information with third-party service providers only under the following limited circumstances:
AI Service Provider (OpenAI, L.L.C.): To provide our core feature, we send the images you submit to OpenAI's API for secure analysis. We encourage you to review OpenAI's Privacy Policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy
Analytics and App Functionality Services: We use third-party services, such as Google Analytics for Firebase, to analyze usage data and crash logs. Additionally, to provide core app features (like runtime permission handling), our app uses third-party libraries (SDKs) that collect and share your list of installed applications for app functionality and analytics purposes. Your saved food entries and custom meals are stored locally and are not shared with these third parties.
The images you submit for analysis are not stored or saved on our servers. They are used ephemerally to generate your nutritional estimate and are then discarded. To request the deletion of any other data, please contact us.
Locally Stored Data: Your saved food entries and custom meals are stored on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
Other Data: To request the deletion of any other data associated with analytics or diagnostics, please contact us.
We use industry-standard security measures like TLS encryption to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact us.
Our Service is not directed to individuals under the of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the Application.
