Parents

Heather Knutson (Chair, 2nd Year)

Heather is the parent of a Field 4th grader. She is a Professor of Planetary Science at the California Institute of Technology, and is the recipient of the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers and the Associated Students of Caltech Teaching Award. She regularly participates in science outreach events including the Caltech Astronomy Public Lecture Series, Alumni Day, and the Watson Lecture series, as well as Field’s Science Night.

Esther Lee (2nd Year)

Esther is a mother of two (a 2nd grader at Field and a 4-year-old) and a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice in Pasadena. She has provided psychological services and counseling for mental health and relational issues for the past 13 years, and also serves as an adjunct faculty at Fuller School of Psychology.

Adlina Dugan (1st Year)

Adlina is a proud mom with two kids at Field. Her daughter is in 1st grade and her son is in PreK for 21-22 school year. She is a School Counselor and has been in Education for about 13 years. She enjoys being involved at her children's school, and also believes parent involvement is important. She hopes she can be a valuable member of SSC to help the students, school, and community with her personal and professional experience.

Mark Whitworth (2nd Year)

Mark has children in 2nd and 4th grade at Field. He has been involved in Education for over 30 years.

In his professional life, he has been a tenured professor at Pasadena City College for over 25 years where he has become very adept at navigating the public education system. He has also been the President of The Pasadena City College Faculty Association for the last 4 years.

Mark has served on all college wide committees at P.C.C. including the Budget and Resource Allocation Committee, Professional Ethics committee and the Distance Education Committee.

Anne Perkins Py (1st Year)

Anne is a proud parent of three kids. Her eldest is a senior at Temple City High followed by a second grader and a kindergartner both attending Field. She has 15 years experience in public transportation as a project manager overseeing paratransit and fixed route services within LA County. Her days in transportation have come to the end of the line. These days Anne focuses on her family and runs her own private shuttle service for her children. She enjoys spending time with her kids and is looking forward to actively supporting her children's education. Along with helping the School Site Council she contributes her support to parent committees or the PTA.

Geoffrey Jennings (1st Year)

Geoffrey was raised in Texas, the son of a schoolteacher (now retired) and his sister is a teacher there now. Growing up he had the good fortune to attend one of the top public schools in the nation, something his parents prioritized heavily. He went to college in TX, then moved to California for a summer job but fell in love with the outdoor opportunities here and never moved back. He is a parent of two wonderful girls, one in second and one in 5th. He's done a lot of different things throughout his career, but currently owns and operates a local business. He loves to play outside with his family and enjoys skiing, whitewater rafting, snorkeling, and riding bikes.
