Who can participate?

Anyone above the age of majority in their country of residence, or any minor with an adult co-author can participate to the contest.

Can I auto-generate my text using an AI model?

Yes. However, you must abide by the following additional rules:

  1. If you team up with an AI, you can only submit one submission per prompt. You cannot author other submissions, neither alone nor with a different AI or a different team of humans.

  2. You can only use one language model per submission.

  3. You must disclose the name of the AI model along with the other information on the contact.pdf file of your submission.

Can I send several entries?

Yes. Be sure to send separate files.

Why are you doing this?

Science progresses slowly, but occasionally jumps forward when a new discovery reveals that some common knowledge was based on wrong assumptions. Can fake discoveries also reveal shaky assumptions? We want to highlight the power of thought experiments as a valid way to spark real work knowledge.

Will my entry be made public even if I don' t win?

Yes. By participating to the contest, you agree to license your text under cc by. This license allows reusers to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the material in any medium or format, so long as attribution is given to the creator. The license allows for commercial use.

Just because you didn't win doesn't mean your entry didn't have good ideas, and we want everyone to be able to be inspired by these ideas.

My country is under embargo. Can I still participate?

The prize money will be sent by sponsoring individuals, not by companies or institutions. Hopefully this will lower some of the barriers in case the winner is in a country under embargo. We cannot guarantee that sending money will be seamless, but we will do our best to find alternative solutions if regular transfers do not work.
