Here is where you will be able to access materials, which have been put together for you, by teachers from different subjects and departments within Falkirk High School.
By taking part in these online activities, you will broaden your understanding of the different subjects you will experience when you join our school. They will also give you an insight into what it is like to take different subjects and the kind of learning you can expect when you join us in August. Overall they will help as part of your transition from Primary school to Secondary school

Creative and Aesthetic Faculty
The Creative and Aesthetic faculty is where you will develop your creative and performing attributes. If you enjoy expressing yourself and using your creativity in many different ways, you will enjoy learning here. You will take part in subjects such as Drama, Music and Art

Our Health Faculty is where you will learn about healthy lifestyles and how to maintain an active and healthy life. If you enjoy sports, nutrition and learning important skills at home such as cooking, you will enjoy learning in this faculty. In S1, you will take part in subjects such as P.E and Home Economics.

Within the Languages Faculty you will learn to develop your literacy skills and abilities in English. Whether you enjoy a good book, poem or creative writing you will enjoy the creative ways our English teachers will develop your English language and literacy skills. You will also begin an exciting journey of learning a new language and cultures in either France or Spain.

Maths and Computing Faculty
One of the most important faculties in the school. The Maths and Computing Faculty will provide you will all the necessary skills to be ready for the 21st century world. You will enjoy the creative ways you will develop your numeracy skills. In computing you will be able to develop your creativity and develop your ability to build systems of your own. You will also use also use ICT a lot throughout Maths lessons.

Pupil Support Faculty
The Pupil Support Faculty is exactly as the title suggests. They offer support and help to pupils that may need it during their time in the school. The Pupil Support Faculty have incredible teachers and support staff who are there to make your time at school the best it can be for you. They will support in a range of ways. Such as writing, reading, numeracy and languages. They also help some people with assessments and exams.

Science Faculty
The Science faculty is always an exciting place to learn. Here is where you will develop a whole range of knowledge and skills. You will develop literacy, numeracy, problem solving and thinking skills in Science. Whilst learning about Biology, Chemistry or Physics you will mix classroom learning with a lot of practical working whilst carrying out research and experiments.

The Social Subjects Faculty is where you will learn to make sense the world we live in. In S1 you will take a learning journey through the creation of our world and develop a solid broad understanding of our history, our geographical past and more important recent world events.

Technologies Faculty
The Technologies Faculty is one of the most diverse in the school. Here is where you will really test a lot of your practical skills , problem solving, ICT skills, creativity as well as numeracy and literacy. You will begin your learning journey by studying technologies which branches out into study subjects such as Craft and Design, Graphic Communication, Engineering, Business and Administration

The secondary department of Windsor Park School for the Deaf is situated in Falkirk High School. Teachers of the Deaf support pupils in the mainstream and in the Windsor Park base using British Sign Language (BSL) and Total Communication (a mixture of sign and speech). You may see teachers signing in the classroom, this means deaf pupils can access lessons in BSL. Try out our BSL lesson below. See how much you can learn before coming to FHS - good luck!
