To nurture young Buddhists aspiring to dedicate their efforts to propagating Dharma, promoting wholesome mental and physical well being, and realizing the values of Humanistic Buddhism through cultural, education, charitable, and Dharma undertakings.
To offer a short-term monastic experience through dual emphasis of understanding and practicing of the Dharma so as to enhance one’s spiritual and religious cultivations.
Philosophy: Fo Guang Shan Philosophy, Humanistic Buddhism Studies.
Teachings: Buddhist Doctrine, Buddhist History, Canonical Text Studies, Buddhist Rituals and Etiquette.
The Five Daily Practices
Meal Etiquette: Serving in the dining hall, kitchen duties
Monastic Services: Cleaning and manual labor
Applied Training: Participation in events, Dharma service practice
Cultivation: Meditation, chanting, prostrations, recitations, and monastic discipline
All courses will be conducted in English
June 23 – July 19, 2026
Fo Guang Shan Monastery, Kaohsiung
300 USD (will be refunded upon successful completion of the program) (Airfare and travel expenses not included).
Participants will reside in the monastery for the entire program.
Please bring your own daily essentials and personal medications.
Uniforms will be provided. (to be returned at the completion of the program)
