Admission Details

Eligibility

1. Respectful of the Triple Gems (Buddha, Dharma, Sangha).

2. Physically and mentally healthy

3. Free from Harmful Habits

4. Single, unmarried, between ages 18–35

5. Must be willing to accept the rules and regulations of traditional Buddhist monastic lifestyle carried out at Fo Guang Shan Monastery.

6. Completed tertiary education or above.

7. Proficient in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).

8. Participants of previous FGS programs such as Short-term Monastic Retreat, Youth Buddhist Academy, Young Adult Division, Buddhism Classes, or Volunteer Programs are given higher priority for acceptance.
