Specific Rules of 3 on 3 Basketball
Half court play with standard size court
Grades 5-6 will play with 28.5 size ball, and Grades 7-10 will play with official men's size ball
Scoring will be the same as a regulated basketball game. Shooting free throws for all shooting fouls. Teams that got fouled will check in up after all non-shooting fouls.
Game plays start with a coin flip or rock/paper/scissors for the ball
After every made basket the defensive team that got scored on has to take ball back to designated line past the 3 point line.
After every change of possession that wasn't scored (steal, block, rebound), the defensive team that got possession of the ball only need to take ball back to the 3 point line (by dribbling or passing) and then they are able to score immediately.
The only time play is not live is when ball is out of bounds or after foul/violation, where we will check the ball up from the top.
We encourage teams to sub every 5 minutes during dead ball situations if they have more than 3 players on their team
In the event of a jump ball situation, the game shall be resumed with a check-ball for the last defensive team.
Each team is allowed 1 team timeout. If you have possession of the ball you are allowed to take it. The clock will not stop, so please make it brief so we are not wasting time for game play.
Refs & League Coordinators have the right to remove any player if they are demonstrating unsportsmanlike conduct.
