I am a biodiversity researcher specialising in biological invasions, global change, and applied conservation science. My work focuses on understanding how invasive species reshape ecosystems, economies, and management priorities across local to global scales. Currently a PhD researcher at the University of Edinburgh, I develop quantitative frameworks and syntheses that link large global datasets with real-world conservation challenges, particularly in megadiverse regions.
My academic background spans environmental engineering, taxonomy and biodiversity, and global ecological modelling, complemented by extensive experience in field ecology, spatial analysis, and statistical modelling. I have led and contributed to research projects across mainland Ecuador, the Amazon, the Galápagos, and international collaborations, integrating ecological data, socio-economic drivers, and policy-relevant metrics to inform decision-making.
Beyond academia, I bring substantial professional experience in government, consultancy, and higher education. I have worked in national biodiversity agencies, forestry policy, environmental consulting, and university teaching, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and translating science into management plans, databases, and policy frameworks. This combination of research, teaching, and applied practice allows me to bridge theory and implementation in biodiversity conservation.
