The start date of the exemption is the date the teacher receives their first certification from the OCT. This means that a teacher must apply as soon as they are first certified by the OCT, regardless of whether they have a temporary/transitional certificate or a general certificate, if they wish to take advantage of this exemption."

• September 20, 2026: Research study for Year 2 BEd students from all racial and ethnic backgrounds amason@uwindsor.ca

  • This research study explores the experiences of Ontario teacher candidates with learning about Black history and cultures. They are seeking teacher candidates who have completed at least 1 year in their teacher training program to participate in the study.

  • Participants will take part in a one-on-one interview which will last between 45 minutes to 1 hour. They will also complete a short sociodemographic questionnaire containing questions such as age, ethnicity, social class and similar demographic questions.

  • Each participant will receive a $25 electronic gift card as a thank you for their time. Please contact Dr. Alleson Mason at amason@uwindsor.ca if you are interested in participating in the study.

  • Girls on the Run coaches are trained volunteers who lead a team of participants through a season of powerful and fun lessons. You do not need to be a runner; you simply need to have a desire to support and encourage the next generation. Coaches receive all the tools and support they need and find that they get as much out of coaching as they give.
