Community Outreach
Community Outreach
Community outreach volunteers assist in communications with treatment/medical facilities to form partnerships and connections. They work to increase awareness of Fern’s Place services among the addiction recovery community, medical community, and the general public. This may come in the form of tabling at public events, creating and hanging fliers, and any other outreach efforts deemed appropriate. People who work in addiction recovery and other medical services, as well as students pursuing these careers, would be a great fit for this role. This position is reserved for those who have directly experienced low-income pet ownership, housing instability while caring for a pet, substance misuse disorders while caring for a pet, or other medical conditions requiring inpatient care while caring for a pet. These perspectives are deeply valuable to our organization. Pet owners who have participated in our fostering program are strongly encouraged to join our team.
